For many it is a time of new beginnings. The end of one season and the approach of another. The end of summer fun, and the beginning of a new, perhaps more serious path; one of learning, commitment, renewal? A time for change, or a return to the familiar?
This month let’s explore the ideas of momentum, balance, and equilibrium.
- How do we find our balance? How do we lose it? Can we ever get it back?
- What sets us in motion, keeps us in balance? What causes us to feel “in sync” or “out of step?”
- What throws us “off guard?” When do we put our guard up? When do we let our guard down?
- Do we seek a season, a month, a specific period of time, or a particular set of circumstances before we can restore our balance?
- Do we seek actively to (re)create the circumstance that will reestablish our momentum?
- Or do we seek out the circumstances that will throw us off balance?
Let us hear about a time when you lost your sense of balance, regained your balance, established your momentum, or a time when you threw the train off tracks.
“I see a world on the edge of a blade. Without balance, it will fall.”
― Victoria Aveyard, Red Queen
“Somehow, we’ll find it. The balance between whom we wish to be and whom we need to be. But for now, we simply have to be satisfied with who we are.”
― Brandon Sanderson, The Hero of Ages
Embrace all sides of who you are and live your authentic truth! Be brave and bold and spontaneous and loud and let that complement your abilities to find silence and patience and modesty and peace. Aim for balance. Make your own rules and don’t let anybody tell you how to live according to theirs.”
― Rachel Brathen
If you have the guts to keep making mistakes,
your wisdom and intelligence leap forward with huge momentum.
