I am a mother of none, but I mother hundreds
I walk in solitude of a thousand words; listen to the roar of a thousand minds.
I preach, I evangelize, I spin a tale,
light fires with stories of old; sagas of anguish; tales of victory.
I instill pride; evoke thought.
I listen to dreams hushed between pages,
spur minds to think, to create, to know.
I ache at attempts; marvel at success;
I admonish mediocrity, applaud heroic struggle
I guide, correct, redirect, I convince, I purport and I provoke.
I am the mother of the children of knowledge;
doors open to all who seek,
I revive the ones who have abandoned the search, unchain those from the precipice of self-doubt, fortify the foundations of those who believe.
I advise, I counsel, I praise and I claim
that all who enter shall leave transformed by the pure power of their own ability
… and I await for the moment of conversion, for the treasure that emanates
from the divine source of all knowledge, for the instant when the light bursts forth.
I am a teacher
